Kitten Picture Archive

I keep this page as a picture archive of our last 3 litters so you can see how our kittens develop as they mature. If you spend time looking at the pics below, you'll see how the kittens look just after they're born, how their colors start to show and then slowly develop into the colors they display as adults. This can be a useful guide to predicting how your kitten will look as an adult - check them out!

Bigflop Samantha Erevan x Rhetoricalrags Rocky

On June 18th 2013, Samantha gave birth to her third litter – 5 boys and a girl.  The father is Rocky  (actually Rhetoricalrags Rocky), a bicolor sealpoint ragdoll – see pics below. All of these kittens are now loving - and being loved by - their new owners in their forever homes.

Bigflop Susanna x Lionsroyale Sir Lancelot

In her first litter, Susanna gave birth to 7 amazing kittens on Aug 4, 2011 – 4 girls and 3 boys. All are big, healthy and are feeding well. Susanna is chocolate lynx and Lance is a mitted bicolor bluepoint. From this pairing, we are expecting seal, chocolate, blue and lilac kittens, in either bicolor, lynx or colourpoint patterns. So far, we are fairly sure that two of the girls (green and blue) will be seal or chocolate points, possibly with lynx patterns. For the rest, it is still too early to tell – the lynx and bicolor patterns take longer to develop. All kittens from this litter are now sold.
Some pictures (at 5, 6, 7 and 8 wks old) are shown below.

Here are mom and dad - Susanna (on right) and Lancelot (on left):

Bigflop Samantha x CFA Champion Lionsroyale Plato (Diego)

** UPDATE 4 Sept 2011 - all kittens from this litter are now sold **

Samantha produced such a beautiful litter of wonderful kittens (you can see them below) that we decided to breed her again. Her second litter, born on June 13th 2011, produced 5 beautiful healthy, large and heavy kittens - 4 girls and 1 boy. The father is CFA Champion Lionsroyale Plato (Diego), a mitted flame lynxpoint. They are all very affectionate and love to be held and petted.

"Torbie Ragdolls are so much fun! It takes a long time for the red or cream to come in, so they are a constant surprise as their color slowly comes in. You never know where that red will show. It's like watching a flower bloom little by little." (Kimberly from Hushabyerags)

Bigflop Samantha x Lionsroyale Buzzby

Samantha’s first litter - 3 girls and 1 boy - emerged on May 24, 2010. From this litter, Susanna was adopted as Bigflop Ragdolls’ newest queen. The other kittens have all been sold. Pics of them as kittens are shown below. More pictures of this litter can be seen HERE (gallery under development!).

** UPDATE 15 Dec 2010 ** At the CCA show in November, some of the judges remarked that they thought Suzanna’s colouration appeared to be chocolate rather than seal. So we ran a DNA test on both Suzanna and her mother Samantha. Turns out, Samantha is lilac and Suzanna is indeed chocolate! These are some of the rarest colours found in Ragdolls; we are extremely happy to see them appear in our cats!
We are also very happy with the results of the show, where Suzanna (entered as a kitten) earned 2nd Best In Breed as well as Best in Colour and 1st in her category.

The DNA tests also confirmed that neither Samantha nor Suzanna has, or is a carrier for, the genetic diseases Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS - both forms), Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and Progressive retinal atrophy (PRA).

While Ragdolls are a large breed, many Ragdolls don’t fulfill their promise. My kittens are big (but not fat) - their weight at 10 weeks is 3 lbs. (1.37 kg), as big as Maine Coon kittens (the largest domestic breed) at this age. I have only one litter per year and the kittens are raised as our beloved pets, with full run of our house. They are already following me wherever I go, love to be held and have the true Ragdoll flop. They will be wonderful loving companions to whoever adopts them into their family.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Female chocolate point (confirmed by DNA test) – not available; our new queen!
We call her Zuzia; we could not, for the longest time, tell her apart from Tom. This baby is an absolute gem - she has a big strong body, is perfectly symmetric, wonderful fur and temperament. She is sweet and playful and we love her dearly.
