News update: First, I have to apologize to anybody that sent email to BigFlop Ragdolls over the last year or so – there was a technical glitch; the emails weren’t being forwarded to me. That has now been corrected, and I am working through the glut of old email (although some of my responses may be so horribly out of date that they could be irrelevant by now).

Second, I am sad to announce that I have decided to stop breeding, at least for now. Samantha and Susanna both need a break and I decided to make that break permanent – they are now my beautiful beloved companions rather than breeding females. While I will continue to provide advice and help to anyone who asks for it, I am no longer breeding kittens. If this changes, you will see an updated announcement on this page.

Welcome to BigFlop Ragdolls; my name is Ewa Lisicka, and I live with my husband and 3 Ragdoll cats in beautiful Aylmer, Quebec, near Ottawa, Canada.

While I have a degree in Animal Husbandry, I breed Ragdolls as a hobby. My goal is to produce big, quality kittens with the sweet, gentle temperament for which Ragdolls are famous.

I fell in love with this breed because a Ragdoll is a stunningly beautiful creature with a wonderful personality and a great devotion to its owner. Ragdolls are always there to meet you at the door when you return home and tend to follow you from room to room. They like to be involved in whatever you are doing.

They are gentle, loving and loyal and, although they enjoy your company, they do not demand non-stop attention. They are happy to just sit close by if you are busy.

All of our kittens are born and raised as part of our family. I feel that this creates well-socialized kittens that are used to all the usual household noises to ensure that they will happily adjust to their new family homes.

The health and wellbeing of our Ragdolls is our highest priority. We breed on a small scale but are passionate about the breed. We are firm believers in showing our cats and our Queen has her share of ribbons from registered cat shows. BigFlop Ragdolls is registered with the Canadian Cat Association (CCA), The International Cat Association (TICA) and Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA).

Our Ragdolls are pets first and breeding cats second. They are family, not business assets. We do not overbreed – we have kittens available only once a year, but we welcome inquiries year-round. You are always welcome to come by and see our cats. If we do not have any kittens when you're ready to make a decision, we’d be happy to recommend other reputable breeders who may have kittens ready to go.

Samantha gave birth to her first litter - 3 female and 1 male kitten - on May 24th, 2010. We think these kittens were the sweetest, softest, most beautiful, playful creatures on the planet. You can see them on our "Our Ragdoll Gallery" or "Available Kittens" galleries.
